Three professional dancers are guest dancing with us for The Nutcracker to make it a truly unique performance!
Vanessa Schuldt, Dew Drop Fairy
Miss Vanessa began her dance training in 2007 at The Children’s Ballet where she trained in ballet, pointe, and modern dance. While there, she was a student teacher and choreographed for the spring performances. This inspired her to continue her dance journey by attending Anderson University after her high school graduation. Her technique expanded to include tap, jazz, dance composition, and improvisation. While at Anderson, she has participated in numerous shows and worked with fantastic teachers like Christine Thacker, Debra Silveus, Doug King and others. She also had the opportunity to dance with Gregory Hancock Dance Theater in the premiere of “EXODUS” and danced as an intern in their recent production of “Violin Under the Bed.” She will graduate this month with a Bachelors of Arts in Dance Business. Vanessa is the Assistant Artistic Director for this production.
Hannah Jordan Wilhite, Snow Queen
Hannah Jordan Wilhite began dancing at a young age with Anderson Young Ballet Theater. She later attended Point Park University where she received a dual concentration BA in Jazz and Modern Dance, studying extensively with Doug Bentz, Judith Leifer-Bentz (Graham), Garfield Lemonius (Horton), and many others. Since graduating, Hannah has worked as a company dancer with Sarasota Contemporary Dance, Kanopy Dance Company, Phoenix Rising Dance Company, Ballet Theatre of Indiana, and as a project-based dancer for Elizabeth Weil Bergmann’s Voices of the Holocaust. In addition to performing, Hannah has taught as adjunct dance faculty at Anderson University, teaching Modern, Jazz, Ballet, Contemporary Partnering, and Dance Composition, and has also taught Modern and Contemporary Partnering at ACDF (American College Dance Festival). Most recently Hannah has been working as a choreographer and rehearsal director for Crossroads Dance Indy.
Rachel Walker, Sugar Plum Fairy
Rachel Walker, born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, began her training with the Grand Rapids Ballet at the age of five. She studied there for 13 years under the direction of Patricia Barker and had the opportunity to perform company and student rolls in many ballets including Balanchine’s Serenade and Who Cares. In the summers, Rachel trained with Carolina Ballet, Nashville Ballet, Ruth Page Center for Dance, The Jillana School and the Grand Rapids Ballet. Rachel joined Central Illinois Ballet as a company member in 2018 and is currently in her second season.
